Perimeter

In math we've been learning about permiter.  Perimeter is the measuring around something. Each  side of the square is one inch. For example: the top one would be ten. It would be ten because if you count each side that is not touching another side it would be ten. Another example: the bottom ones permiter would be twelve. It would be twelve because of you count the outside that's not touching another square.

Rain gage

We made weather instruments. We made a  rain Gauge. It was easy and fun. We put rocks in the bottom to keep it on the ground.   All of us made one and the teacher made a BIG ONE! We also made weather vanes and wind gauges to measure wind speed and direction. ByParker and Harper

Sisters Grimm

Sabrina and Daphne Grimm's parents disappeared one night when Sabrina and Daphne were in their parents bed waiting and waiting and waiting during a thunderous storm hoping their parents were soon to came home. Sabrina and Daphne are stuck with a weird old lady that says she is their grandma even though the girls' dad said she died. The "grandma" has a helper named Mr.Canis that helps her around the house. When the girls leave their snotty mean Ms.Smirt they arrive at the house after being in the squeaky old car. When they got to the door there were twelve locks on the door when "grandma" gets out the keys there were big keys, little keys, strange shaped keys and MUCH more weird keys. When they got in the house there were stacks of books EVERYWHERE one of the books was 365 ways to cook a dragon. Lots more weird titled books. For dinner meatballs that were green with purple spaghetti. The breakfast they had pancakes with pink fizzy syrup. The grandma is a detective. She was investigating a farmers house that got squished by a ...giant. Some clues are that Dafne saw a giant's footprint that was one clue. Another clue is that the grandma found a leaf.   A bright green leaf in the middle of fall.  Maybe a leaf from a beanstalk. When the grandma said a leaf from a beanstalk Daphne  and Subrina did not believe it and they thought that she was coo coo. When they went to see the farmer.  The good witch Glenda was erasing the farmer's memory so he would not remember what happened the night before. Where they are is called Ferryport Landing, New York.  It is a place where fairy tale characters live. Baba Yaga put a spell on the place so fairy tale characters would not go attack the humans because they were picking on the fairy tale characters. This book is also about the brothers Grimm if you like their stories. In this book their stories are actually things they saw happen when they were in the time of the monsters and princes and princesses.  Our class thinks that this book is about a giant trying to capture the girls. So what will happen?  You can get this book at the school library or your public library.
