Doors decorators!

This is our door that we made for the door decorating contest.  We all drew door ideas. Then Ms.  Mathes picked one.   Our idea for the door came from VIivian and Kinley.  Ms.  Mathes picked it because a lot of kids drew hot chocolate pictures. The class voted in colors for the cup and the background. Then we split into groups. Some groups made the cups; some groups made the marshmallows; and some groups made the snowflakes.

Some people went downstairs to the green room where we put on a green blanket that made us look invisible. The people upstairs in the control room could not see the parts of us covered with the green blanket. Then we rotated I went up stairs to the brain. The Controls room controls a lot of channels like METV, FOX, ABC, KMIZ. They told us about what they do.Then we learned about advertising and how they do news stories.

They call it fear because felines stands for the F enraged stands for the E, about stands for the A, and rodents stands for the R.

Germy situation

On Tuesday we made up our own germs. We made them out of what our teacher gave us like pipe cleaners, paper, puffballs, and other things. Then we wrote facts about our germs. The facts were things like how do you get cured when the germ is  in your body.  People would write like you have to eat candy to get rid of the germ and you get the germ by eating healthy stuff.

Today we looked at the germs we grew.  We put them in a dark place and below are the results.

The germs that came from the bottom of people's shoes and the toilet handle and the computer keyboard grew but not everybody's germs grew

Today we learned about your body  defenses.  Some are cilia in your throat that if you swallow then it will take care of it and if it passes your cilla  then there is your  stomach acid   and if it gets past that then you have your white blood cells which they will not get passed that.

Germs

One of our classmates was wondering if we could grow germs. So in class yesterday we used petri dished with agar in them to grow germs.  We all went to different places and rubbed Q-tips on places that people touch every day like keyboards and faucet handles. Then we rubbed the Q-tip in the agar.  Then we closed  the lid and gave it to Ms. Mathes and she put it in a dark, damp, warm place because that is a germ's favorite place.
