Fairy tales

Today we started a new read aloud called The Sisters Grimm.  The main characters are Sabrina and Daphne.  They go to to live with their supposed grandma after their parents disappear.  Sabrina is not sure that they can trust their supposed grandma.

Mathmatic Thursday

This Thursday we got to play a fraction game with pattern blocks. You tried to make an octagon with other shapes. The first person who got all 8 hexagons filled by fractions won the game. Also if you knew fractions well you could win faster and easier.

Crazy Hat And Hair Day!

Today we had a crazy hat and hair day. A lot of people in our class wore a crazy hat or had crazy hair.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a short St. Patrick's Day party. We had apples, pear, kiwi, and rice crispy treats. We could have as much fruit as we wanted, but we could only have two rice crispy treats. It was a fun and delicious snack!

Super wind

Yesterday we tested out our rain gauge, weather vain, and wind gauge.  We measured rain in our rain gauges and it was one inch. We also tested the wind gauge.  The wind made the string go to 5. It was windy!  Our weather vane told us the wind was blowing NW. We all had fun doing it!!

Letters

We wrote persuasive letters to Ms. Stemmons about what books she needs to get in our library.  In Tuesday we read our letters out loud to Ms. Stemmons.  Some popular requests were  Cabin Creek series and I Survived series. For a few books that people suggested Ms. Stemmons had them but she had to track them down.  She is going to order some of the others. 

Make and take

On Thursday we Had a non-referral create party. You could bring anything you wanted to the party if you did not get a referral. Next time if nobody gets a referral then the principals get slimed.
