Handwriting

We have practiceing handwriting. Handwriting is where you practice writing your letters in the neatest way possible. It is not hard. For example: it shows the letter T you have to write the letter t over and over.  Say it shows the word dog you have to write the word dog two times. Say it shows the letter H you have to write the letter H over and over. We are going to do cursive soon.  I don't think that cursive will be hard because Anna and Liza (that is me) we have been practicing some letters in cursive at home. Handwriting is so fun. I love handwriting but some times it is not fun to me and Anna.

                                                                                                                                     -Liza,Anna

Counting by fives and tens

Dear readers,

Our class is working together  on  connecting sets of 5 or 10 cubes into 50 cube lines. Then we compare to look for things that are the same or different. This is going to help us understand multiplication.

The Lemonade war

In the Lemonade war there are two kids named Evan and Jessie.Evan is mad at Jessie because she is skipping 3rd grade and going to Evan's class in fourth grade.  Evan started a lemonade stand with Scott, his kind of friend. They are kind of friends because Scott ran over Evan's bicycle helmet on purpose. The two boys get a lot of customers but then they start to lose customers because Jessie and Megan stole all of the customers by starting a lemonade stand further than Evan and Scott.
We hope you hade fun learning about The Lemonade War!

Kindergarten Buddies

We have kindergarten buddies. We went to Mrs.  Dixon's room to make a Halloween craft that was Frankenstein.  We read off a piece of paper that told us what to do on our Frankenstein.  The piece of paper told us what to do.  For example, if you are a girl you have a purple head and neck and if you are a boy you have a green head and neck. And if you like chocolate candy better than fruity candy you have zig zag hair and if you don't you have wavy hair. And for the stitches,if you are in 3rd grade you have 3 stitches and if you are the kindergartener you have 2 stitches. For the bolts, if you have a pet you have the bolts on the side of your head.  If you don't have a pet the bolts are on your neck. For the eyes if you ride the bus a lot then you do not have cross eyes, but if you do anything else you have cross eyes.  For the smile it says if you like Halloween then you do a small smile and if you LOVE Halloween then you have a deep smile."I mean like who doesn't like Halloween!!!!" So I hope you like Halloween and have a great one.  :0)

Writing

In writing we have been reading the book Knuckleheads!!! This book should inspire you to have different writing ideas. Some ideas this book might have gave you is....
- A really gross time
- A fun vacation
- Sick/ A time you broke something

Begginings
A beginnings are something that NEEDS TO grab your readers attention. If it doesn't grab your readers attention it could make nobody want to read your book. Some ideas to start off your beggining is...
- A question
- A mystery (Make sure not to leave it a mystery to long)
- A sound
There are many more , but these were some examples.

Vivid Verbs
Instead of just using plain old boring vebs like....
- Ran
You use...  We Zipped to the finish line. The vivid verbs help make you story more insteresting.

Ending
The end needs to remind your reader about what you were reading about.  Let's say you were writing about a time your cat threw up. You might want to say...

-I still can't believe it made all of my brothers throw up with the cat.
