We met our Kindergarten Buddies today. We had fun learning about them by asking them interview questions and we enjoyed reading to them.

We made tetrahedral kites today. They had lots of vertices to tie yarn to.

Friday Fun

Even though our field trip got cancelled we managed to have a fun day. A movie with popcorn and donuts donated by our generous parents. Then game time, friendship bracelets, and water balloons. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out also.

We made weather vanes and wind gauges to measure wind direction and speed. We ha da good windy day today to tease them out.

Water Cycle

We learned about the water cycle. Water gets reused over and over. Ms. Mathes did a demonstration where we watched water evaporate. Then it condensed on the bottom of a cold pot like a cloud. Then the water rained down.

Magnets

We learned about magnets today. Magnets don't stick to all metal. They stick to iron and steel. We also learned that strongest part of the magnet is the pole. The same poles won't stick together. Different poles will stick together. 

 

 

 

Parachutes

We are experimenting with gravity and air resistance by making parachutes. We'll see whose parachutes slows their animal the most tomorrow. 

 

 

 

 

 

Roller Coasters

Today we tested our knowledge of force by completing "roller coaster" challenges. We had to make the marble go faster and slower and go over hills and through loops.
