Taylor and Makenna are our student counsel reps and the first meeting is Tuesday and we go every month at 7:30 in the morning. We get ideas about stuff and then we report it to the class and any special things that the school is doing to raise money. We had to write a speech that was 1-2 minutes long and Taylor and Makenna won !!!!!

Lemonade War
In read aloud we have started a book called Lemonade War! So far the characters we have met are Evan Treski and his sister Jessie. Evan is mad at Jessie but we don't know why yet. The book is awesome so far. By Natalie
Jeffrey
We are going to miss our friend Jeffrey. Jeffrey was a nice friend to everybody.He was the funniest person in the class. Jeffrey always cheered us up.He loved to play soccer and read BIG NATE. He was the best best friend ever! Logan and Luke.
Skip counting books
On hundreds charts, we been skip counting on them by 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12. Then we put them in a book to help us with multiplication and use them in math! We noticed lots of things when we were coloring. We noticed that 5s always in 5 or 0 and elevens the digits are double like 22 and 33.

Kindergarten Buddies
We have kindergarten buddies. They are in Mrs. Hitch kiss'a class. We just had our first meet. We do a meet once a month. This time we read books to our buddy. I got through almost 6 books. We are all assigned a buddy except for one group that has 2 third graders and one buddy. It was really fun. by Hank

Spelling
We have been practicing our spelling words. We practiced our long A's and our short A's. We have done some work sheats. And today we added Ed and Ing. We underlined the words with long A's and then we would circle the long A letters. We also Xed out the wrong words. This is all what we have been learning about.

Homophones
We have a big chart of homophones. A homophones is two or three words that are spelled different and mean different things but sound the same. Whenever we want we can write down homophones that we thought of. Here's an example threw and through. Ms. Mathes told us last year that the students kept filling up the charts and she kept adding new ones. by Hank

Food Web
Yesterday our class made a food web with yarn. A food web is a group of plants and animals that give each other energy. For example, the mouse eats the grass and gives the mouse energy. iPads!!

Our mornings
In the mornings our teacher gives us a sheet on our desk and we come in and do the math or spelling or reading she has for us!!After we are done with morning work we do morning jobs or we read at are desk! After that we grade and then we do math !In math we have been working on multiplication! We play circles and stars !That is were we roll one dice and the first number you roll you draw that many circles on the paper and then you roll again and that's how many stars you put in the circles!then you write down ---circles x -- stars in each! We have also colored multiplication pictures for 2, 4, 5, and 10. That is part of are morning. We have so much fun doing that in the morning. After that we go to p.e or music or media or art! Marvin redpost
Marvin has 2 best friends and is in 3rd grader. So one day Marvin was playing wallball during recess. It was his turn to play. He was up against Clarence. Clarence hit the ball over the line so it was out, but Clarence said Marvin wasn't paying attention because he was just picking his nose. The next day Marvin kept saying he didn't pick his nose, but that made them remember so it made it worse. At the end Marvin's survey was, "Do you pick your nose?" by Logan and Carter
Multiples of 5 and 10
We connected 5 cubes and we did 2 different colors and we connected sets of 5 cubes until we got to 50 cubes. Then we did the same for 10 cubes. When we were done we compared them. It took twice as many groups of 5 to make 50. Then we took a strip of paper and we wrote 5 10 15 20 and so on. Also we measured them and they are both the same length it is a commutative property: 5x10=50 and 10x5 = 50. By Taylor

Bottle Ecosystems
Today we did ecosystems. For the bottom layer we put rocks water and a water plant and then the animals. Some bottles had cherry shrimp. Some had daphnia. Some had minnows. Some had snails. Some had guppies. For the top layer we put rocks first and then we put soil. Then we put grass. Then we put leaves and twigs and then we put pill bugs. It was really fun. by Hank and Logan
