Writers' Notebooks

This week we had to decorate our writer's notebooks. We had a week to get it done and turned in. They turned out really cool. It required a lot of work. The writer's notebooks were for giving us inspiration about what we can write about.

The Ned Show

Today we had an assembly called"The Ned Show". Xia from our class won a balloon crown and yoyo/boomerang. Instead of paying for the prizes, Xia got it for free, because she answered a lot of questions. Xia said something about having confidence to be a champion. There were other people who answered too, but she got the two top prizes!

Lots and lots of Teamwork!

 

Yesterday, we played a game called the cup stacking game. It is where you stack 6 cups with a rubber band an 4 strings. If it fell down, you would have to either start over or try to pick it back up with the string, you weren't allowed  to touch anything with your hand except for the string. It required a lot of teamwork!

Save Fred

Today we played a game called Save Fred! It was about a gummy worm and it was sailing on a boat and then a wind blew the ship over. Apparently Fred landed on top of the ship and his inner tube (the life saver), was still under the ship and we had to get the inner tube around Fred. After we were done we took a picture and we got to eat another gummy worm and life saver.  We had to use teamwork to solve Fred's problem. 

Hello

Hello!  Welcome to a new school year.  I enjoyed meeting everyone on Thursday and can't wait to get to know everyone better.  On Tuesday students will come to the classroom between 8:05 and 8:20.  Our special on Tuesday is PE so don't forget to wear sneakers.  Be sure to bring a favorite book to share.  There are copies of the classroom forms I sent home under the "Parent Info" tab if you need them.
